Version 2 guide
Requirements
Program can only be run on computers running Windows Vista or higher with .NET framework 4 or above.
Installing/Uninstalling
Since the program is not really installed at any point it does not need to be uninstalled either. It is just a question of placing and deleting the files. The program is downloaded in a .zip file. Inside the .zip file are just one executable and a readme text. Just place the files wherever you like and run the executable.
"Uninstalling" is just as simple. Just delete the .exe and the readme from where you placed them.
Program settings are saved in the users files. Lets say Windows is on C: drive. Then the programs settings would be at "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\DegathsDucker\" where <USERNAME> is replaced with your username. AppData folder is hidden by default. DegathsDucker folder can be deleted at any point for whatever reason but the program will reset to default settings.
Will try to add an installer/uninstaller at some point to make things easier.
Example
In this example the signal coming from your own microphone and TeamSpeak will act as triggers to lower the volume of every other active audio session. In other words when you or someone else speaks on TS the level of your music is lowered to 5% of the original for 0,1 seconds or 3 seconds (depending on the trigger source) before the audio source starts to gain it's level back. After one more second the level has returned to its original state if the event is not triggered again.

User Interface
Here are listed the general content of the program with short explanations.
Master Volume:
Control your master volume with this slider. The bar next to it is the master peak bar.
Input Trigger:
Input devices trigger threshold slider on the left and peak meter to the right.
When the trigger peak bar below goes over the set threshold level, ducking takes place.
Please note that Degath's Ducker does not activate the microphone input by itself.
A program that uses microphone input is needed for this channel to receive a triggering signal.
Trigger 1/2/3:
Output devices trigger threshold slider on the left and peak meter to the right.
The program selectors at the bottom of each slider contains all programs with active
audio sessions. When the trigger peak bar below goes over the set threshold level,
ducking takes place. As you can see there are three separate triggers which you can select.
Reduced Volume (%):
The level of all other audio sources when ducking is active.
Ducking Time (s):
Time from the trigger to the beginning of the fade in.
Fade In Time (s):
Time it takes for the audio to reach it's original level after the fade in begins.
ON/OFF -button (in lower left corner):
ON - Ducking effect will happen when conditions are met.
OFF - Ducking effect will not happen.
Reset:
Resets the threshold sliders to the middle and removes all selected triggers.
Settings:
Program options are managed here. Also shows some data about the state of the program.
Contains tabs for peak meters, ducking, UI, internet, shortcuts and data. Some of these are rather empty still but more settings will probably come. Each setting has its tooltip but note that tooltips have to be enabled from the UI tab.
Shortcuts do not have tooltips yet but the usage should be reasonably intuitive.
ERRORS
I am aware that at least avast!-antivirus will first try the program in a sandbox, but will
say in 15 seconds that it's ok.
In case of errors I am more than interested in fixing them, so please use the feedback
section or send me e-mail to this address: [email protected]
